Best Places To Fish


There are many lakes and rivers in Southern California but the ones I like the most and had the greatest success fishing are mentioned below. With the variety of fish such as Bass, Bluegill, Catfish, Perch and Trout just to name a few, the fishing is excellent. Catfish fishing being my favorite is absolutely enjoyable. Big Bear Lake

Directions
From the Los Angeles area

Take Interstate 10 East, to the 30 freeway North, to Hwy. 330 North. Hwy. 330 goes through Running Springs and turns into Hwy. 18. Follow Hwy. 18 East and turn right across the Big Bear Lake dam. Follow this road into Big Bear.

From the San Diego area
Take Interstate 15 North, to the 215 North, to Interstate 10 East, to the 30 freeway North, to Hwy. 330 North which will take you up into the mountains. Hwy. 330 goes through Running Springs and turns into Hwy. 18. Follow Hwy. 18 East and turn right across the Big Bear Lake dam into Big Bear.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
Directions from South Orange County : Take 55 frwy North exit Chapman Avenue (East) / Just 8-10 miles and you are there.
Directions from North Orange County : Take 91 east to 55 frwy South exit Chapman Avenue (East) / Just 8-10 miles and you are there.

Directions from Greater Los Angeles County : Take 5 frwy South to 91 east to 55 frwy South exit Chapman Avenue (East) / From here you are just 8-10 miles from the lake.

Directions from Inland Empire and Riverside Counties : Take 91 frwy West to the 241 Toll Road South exit Santiago Canyon Road (East) / From here you are 2 miles from the lake. Alternately, you can continue on the 91 frwy West to the 55 frwy South exit Chapman Avenue (East) / Just 8-10 miles and you are there.

Silverwood Lake

Directions

Silverwood Lake is located off Highway 138, 11 miles east of the I-15 or 24 miles northeast of San Bernardino from highways 18 and 138.  Silverwood Lake is surrounded by 2,400 acres of ancient Douglas Firs, Black Oak trees and spectacular views of the mountain creeks.  At an altitude of 3,380, Silverwood Lake was formed by the 249 foot Cedar Springs Dam; at 3,350 feet it is the highest reservoir hosted by the State Water Project.  The lake has a surface area of 976 acres and has 13 miles of shoreline.

Lake Skinner

Directions

From Los Angeles, take hwy 60 East through Riverside to the 215E. Go South on 215E (395) to Hwy 74, and then East on 74 to Winchester Rd.
79) Turn right on Winchester to Benton Road then turn left. Travel to the Stop sign on Buck Road and turn right. Turn Left on Borrell Road and continue to the Warren Road entrance.

Vail Lake

Directions

From Los Angeles: Take Interstate 10, 60, or 91 east to the Interstate 15 south. Drive south until you get to Temecula. The last exit before leaving Temecula is Highway 79 South towards INDIO. Take this exit to the left for 9 miles. You will find us on the left.

 From San Diego: Take Interstate 5 north to Interstate 8 east and take Interstate 15 north for about 40 miles. Take the Highway 79 South. Make a right for 9 miles. Our entrance is on the left.

Santa Ana River Lakes

Directions

Santa Ana River Lakes is located off of the 91 freeway in the city of Anaheim. From the 91 freeway exit the Tustin Ave off ramp go North. Turn right, East at the first intersection which is La Palma Ave. Continue East to the entrance, about 1/2 mile.
